Community Academy Now Accepting Applications
This fall, the Mukilteo Police Department will be offering another Community Academy to residents who are interested in volunteering with the department. Officer Nathan Fabia has overseen the academy for the past three years, and notes that those completing the eight week course come away with a greater understanding of how policing works both locally and further afield.
The course begins September 12th and runs through October 31st. It is free of charge and is held at Rosehill Community Center. Included in the course will be: day to day operations, patrol and traffic units, use of the K9 program, touring the medical examiner’s office, a ride along with an officer, and more. Completion of the program is a requirement for those being considered as a Volunteer in Public Safety.
Applications are currently being accepted for consideration, and interested applicants may contact Officer Fabia at : nfabia@mukilteowa.gov.
