Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo Receives Leadership Award
Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo was the recipient of a prestigious COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP award from the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA).
President Joe Hannan and Vice President Kim Voetberg accepted the award on behalf of the club during the annual Regional Awards Recognition Event, held at Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center. Ten school districts in the area participated in the ceremony with each district nominating and presenting awards for Community Leadership and District Student Achievement Leadership.
Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo was honored for their nearly 28 years of dedicated service to children and youth in this community. The recognition included their yearly disbursement of scholarships to graduating seniors. To date their total exceeds $200,000, with another $35,000 to be disbursed for the 2024-25 school year. In addition, the club offers grants to non-profits who reflect similar values and offer services for children in the area.
Each year the club participates in activities as a part of their engagement and service to the community. Included in that piece of their club’s support, there have been activities such as Speedway cleanup, work days at the community garden, volunteering for Clothes for Kids, Packs for Kids, Camp Killoqua clean up, Boys and Girls Club, Food Bank, Christmas House, Cocoon House, Special Olympics and more.
The Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo looks forward to many more years of volunteerism and giving back to the community they love. For more information, visit MukilteoKiwanis.org and learn how to become involved.
