Dawson Place Brings Hope

All children deserve to be safe. This statement is why Dawson Place in Everett, came in to existence.

Seth Dawson, Snohomish County’s Elected Prosecutor in the ‘90s attended a conference where he heard about other child advocacy centers, and learned about ways community leaders and organizations could collaborate to provide side by side services to abused children. In the early 2000s a local task force took point and began putting together programs and services to meet those needs in our area. Dawson Place was born.

Over the years Dawson Place has continued to grow and evolve and today, in 2025 there are several multi-disciplinary teams that work to aid victims and their families, through the trauma of court appearances, understanding their rights, therapies, safe spaces to live and more.b

Lori Vanderberg is the Executive Director of Dawson Place and is passionate about her role in a child advocacy organization. As a former therapist she sees an ever-growing need for services that encompass all areas of a victim’s life, be it education, safety, therapy, and the ability to emerge from a tragedy to a future with hope.
