Mukilteo Kiwanis Helps Packs For Kids
Sunday was a banner day for Packs For Kids, as they held their annual gathering at Rosehill Community Center. This fundraiser helps to offset costs to feed underserved students in our school district. PFK provides eligible students with a backpack of food to take home on Friday, to help carry them over the weekend until they can return to school on Monday and resume their lunch program.
Organizer Oran Smith-Osterman was thrilled to report that they’d exceeded their goal of raising $12,000 at Sunday’s event. She said they’d raised about $17,500, with more donations still trickling in.
As a former Kiwanian (she and husband Mark now live in Portugal), she had many willing hands from the club to help her make this day a success. Packs For Kids falls in line with our mission of helping children. This year, the program has expanded from its elementary and middle school program and will now start serving eligible high school students.
Thanks #Mukilteo for your generosity!
