Marine Science Program Continues at Mariner HS
Two Mariner High School students, Valerie Newell and Valeria Guerrero, along with their school advisor, Alia Lavin, joined Jon Baker in a presentation about their marine science club.
This extra curricular club allows students to delve into science through hands on fisheries exploration, tracking their findings and experiments in the Mariner Marine Genetics Lab, and doing tangible research using data collected in our region.
The Mariner Marine Science Club has a long-term goal to produce a multi-species genetic profile of Salish Sea organisms while introducing students to the practice of science, genetics, laboratory skills, and marine resource conservation.
