4-H Visits The Club
Many of us learned something new at a recent club meeting. The 4-H Club is not just about blue ribbon farm animals or agricultural endeavors. While those two interests are offered to participants ages 5-18, there is a vast array of other choices.
Dawn Joao, of 4-H (head, heart, hand, health) shared the mission and vision of this organization. 4-H is a national program, and each state program is chartered by a university. In our case, Washington State University.
Snohomish County has the largest club in the state and offers students learning opportunities in leadership, life skills, and experienced based topics such as archery, dirt bikes, technology, robotics, animal care, plant sciences, expressive art and more. There are currently 850 children and youth enrolled in our county.
4-H and Kiwanis share similar goals for our younger population… ongoing learning experiences, self worth, leadership, and empowerment. For more information about 4-H in our area, visit: https://extension.wsu.edu/snohomish/4h/join-4-h/
