Today Kiwanis celebrates Earth Day, an annual event that brings awareness of our global environment, and is recognized on April 22nd. Each year we are encouraged to get involved, practice sustainability, and lend our aid to renewing our resources.

The 2023 theme is Invest In Our Planet. On a smaller, more localized way, Kiwanis Club of #Mukilteo does just that… they invest in the #community. One of the ways they do this is by partnering with the Mukilteo Community Garden for a pre-season garden cleanup that prepares the space for planting and harvesting. A large portion of the garden is set aside for volunteers to plant and harvest vegetables that will be donated to the #MukilteoFoodBank (another community partner).

This year we had a record number of volunteers from Mukilteo Kiwanis Club and their key clubs from Mariner High School and Kamiak High School. Project coordinators said that over 50 #volunteers signed in throughout the four hour event.
