Boy Scouts Update Kiwanis Club
Mukilteo Kiwanis welcomed former Lt. Governor (Kiwanis) Dan’l Adams from the Mt. Baker Council of Boy Scouts as our speaker. Dan’l is the new Unit Sales Director and has served the Mt. Baker Council for a number of years.
The BSA is an organization, 31M strong. They promote diversity, inclusion, and equity among their members. There are only five countries worldwide that do NOT have scouting within their borders. In 1969, teen girls were allowed to join the Boy Scouts but in 2019, girls of all ages broke through the glass ceiling, and began joining the younger programs. When asked, over half the room had either been in the scouting program, or were parents of scouts.
Also in attendance were four members of the Snohomish Kiwanis club, making it an inter-club event.
Fellow member Adrian Ramirez was recognized for his heroic efforts in saving a life (future article will be posted). Board member Pam Taylor presented the award amidst wild applause. We are so proud of you, Adrian!
